TENTANG KOMODO

Komodo, atau yang selengkapnya disebut biawak komodo (Varanus komodoensis), adalah spesies kadal terbesar di dunia yang hidup di pulau Komodo, Rinca, Flores, Gili Motang, dan Gili Dasami di Nusa Tenggara. Biawak ini oleh penduduk asli pulau Komodo juga disebut dengan nama setempat ora.

Termasuk anggota famili biawak Varanidae, dan klad Toxicofera, komodo merupakan kadal terbesar di dunia, dengan rata-rata panjang 2-3 m. Ukurannya yang besar ini berhubungan dengan gejala gigantisme pulau, yakni kecenderungan meraksasanya tubuh hewan-hewan tertentu yang hidup di pulau kecil terkait dengan tidak adanya mamalia karnivora di pulau tempat hidup komodo, dan laju metabolisme komodo yang kecil. Karena besar tubuhnya, kadal ini menduduki posisi predator puncak yang mendominasi ekosistem tempatnya hidup

SUMBAWA OVERLAND TOUR

a. TOUR ITINERARY:

Day 01, LOMBOK - SUMBAWA

Drive to east of Lombok passing through picturesque view of Mt. Rinjani heading up to Labuan Lombok to get public ferry to Sumbawa Island. On the way to Sumbawa Besar, stop to visit Bungin Island, a unique traditional fisherman village off shore. Lunch will be provided in picnic box, dinner and overnight at a hotel.

Day 02, SUMBAWA - FULL DAY TOUR

After having breakfast at the hotel, depart to the bustling city of Sumbawa to visit: DALAM LOKAK (the old palace), TALWA (blacksmith village), AI BELING (the waterfall), LIANG PETANG (a cave), then proceed to Kencana Beach for lunch and swimming. Dinner and overnight are at the hotel.

Day 03, SUMBAWA BESAR – MOYO ISLAND

After having breakfast at the hotel, the guide will take them to Ai’ Bari Fishermen village where they board on an outrigger boat for 15-minute sail to Moyo Island in BACK TO NATURE ISLAND TOUR program. This tour program starts by walking in the forest where wild animals such as: deer, pig, GOSONG bird, small komodo are easily to see. The highlight of this tour program is the visit to a bat cave, with million bats inside. A picnic-boxed lunch will be served en route. Also enjoy the beauty of the conserved sea garden by snorkeling over colorful coral reefs around the island. Then sail back to the hotel on the main land for dinner and overnight.

Day 04, SUMBAWA - LOMBOK

After having breakfast at the hotel, proceed back to Lombok through Poto Tano harbor. Upon arrival at Labuan Lombok harbor, drive to Lembar harbor to take a ferry crossing Lombok strait to Bali. Lunch will be served en route.

Day 01, LOMBOK – SUMBAWA (L/D)

Start from hotel at 06.30 and then drive directly to KAYANGAN Seaport to embark a ferry ship to cross ALAS STRAIT to SUMBAWA. Upon arrival at TANO Seaport, proceed to SUMBAWA BESAR town. On the way, they will stop at SULTAN PALACE, which they call “BALA BOLONG or DALAM LOKA”. It’s made by wood and built in 1702. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. After having lunch proceed to hotel for check-in, dinner and overnight.

Day 02, SUMBAWA – MOYO ISLAND (B/L/D)

After having breakfast at the hotel, sail on a speed boat to MOYO ISLAND in about 2 hours. After having breakfast at the hotel, drive to SAPE Harbor for about 4-hour sail crossing SAPE STRAIT to KOMODO ISLAND. Lunch, dinner and overnight are on the boat.

Day 05, KOMODO – BIDADARI – BIMA (B/L/D)

After having breakfast at hotel, sail to Komodo Island by a boat. Upon arrival at Komodo, start to walk through tropical forest to BANU NGGULUNG feeding area to see the Giant Lizard which was scientifically described as VARANUS KOMODOENSIS. Lunch will served on boat. On the way back sail to SAPE Harbor, stop at BIDADARI Island, a tiny island to discover massive corals and unspoiled sea garden. Upon arrival at the city of Bima, check-in hotel for rest, dinner and overnight.

Day 06, BIMA DEPARTURE (B)

Day 07, RUTENG – BAJAWA (B/L/D)

After having breakfast at hotel, drive continued to BAJAWA with a stop at RANAMESE, a local words for big lake (RANA = big, MESE = lake). A recommended activity on this area is photo-taking. Lunch will be served en route in a local restaurant. Upon arrival at BAJAWA, check-in the hotel for rest, dinner and over night.

Day 08, BAJAWA: FULL DAY BENA TOUR (B/L/D)

After having breakfast at hotel, the next program is having tour to BENA, a traditional village to see megalithic stone monuments, ancestor worship shrines and traditional house. On the way to the village, stops at INERIE for its peak snapshot. Lunch will be served en route in a local restaurant at AIEMERE. The tour continued to SOA: the natural hot water spring. Then back to hotel for rest, dinner and over night.

Day 09, BAJAWA – RIUNG (B/L/D)

After having breakfast at hotel, proceed to RIUNG, a small city about 60 km from BAJAWA. There are so many beautiful panoramas to take on the way. Upon arrival at RIUNG, check-in simple hotel. Lunch will be served in the hotel. Rest of the day is Free Program, while dinner and overnight in the hotel.

Day 10, RIUNG: Full Day Tour (B/L/D)

After having breakfast at hotel, proceed to a small harbor to take an outrigger boat sailing to KEPULAUAN TUJUH BELAS (seventeen archipelagos) on the northern territory of the town for snorkeling, swimming or sun bathing. Lunch will be served in a picnic box. Back to the hotel for rest, dinner and overnight.

Day 11, RIUNG – ENDE – MONI (B/L/D)

After having breakfast at hotel, drive to MONI, a starting point to KELIMUTU. Before reaching MONI, stop at ENDE for touring the town and having lunch in a local restaurant. Upon arrival at MONI, check-in hotel for rest, dinner and overnight.

Day 12, MONI – KELIMUTU – MAUMERE (B/L/D)

At 4:00 AM in the morning, proceed to the peak of KELIMUTU, which is 1.690 m height above sea level. KELIMUTU is local words, which stand for Spirit Mountain. Spectacular sunrise and the three color lakes are among the other wonders on the mountain. Drive back to the hotel for breakfast and ready for heading MAUMERE. On the way to MAUMERE, stop at JOFU village to see traditional houses of Flores. Upon arrival at MAUMERE, check-in hotel for rest, dinner and overnight.

Day 13, MAUMERE (B/L/D)

Day 01, LOMBOK ARRIVAL

Upon arrival at SELAPARANG airport Lombok, a guide will pick them up and then he will transfer the guests to the selected hotel for check-in and rest.

Day 02, LOMBOK: SASAK TOUR (B/L)

After having breakfast at the hotel, drive to the southern part of the island in SASAK TRADITIONAL TOUR visiting same villages such as: BANYUMULEK to see pottery, SUKARARA to see Sasak’s Ikat, SADE to see traditional houses of Sasak people, KUTA the white sandy beach. A lunch will be served in a local restaurant on Kuta beach. Then drive back to the hotel rest and overnight.

Day 03, LOMBOK: GILI TRAWANGAN TOUR (B/L)

After having breakfast at the hotel, proceed to a small tiny island GILI TRAWANGAN. On the way to the tiny island, stops will be made at: PUSUK monkey forest and BANGSAL harbor to catch an outrigger boat to sail with to the tiny island. Some suggested activities on the island: snorkeling, diving, swimming or just sun bathing. All these activities are on personal account. A lunch will be served in a local restaurant on the island. Day 04, LOMBOK –BIMA (B/L/D)

After having breakfast at the hotel, drive to the eastern part of LOMBOK to catch the ferry which embarks to SUMBAWA Island, then drive to the town BIMA by passing town of DOMPU in the central part. Upon arrival at BIMA, check-in hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 1, JAKARTA /BALI – LOMBOK

Welcome service upon arrival at Lombok’s Selaparang airport – then transfer directly to hotel for overnight.

Day 2, LOMBOK – SUMBAWA

After having breakfast, at 08.00 AM drive directly to Kayangan Seaport to embark a ferry ship to cross Alas strait. Upon arrival at Tano Seaport, proceed to Sumbawa Besar town. On the way stop at JOROK VILLAGE, to se buffalo race attraction – SULTAN PALACE that’s they call “Bala Bolong or Dalam Loka”. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. Transfer to hotel for rest and overnight. Dinner will be served in the hotel’s restaurant.

Day 3, SUMBAWA BESAR – BIMA

After having breakfast, proceed to BIMA, the eastern part of Sumbawa Island via DOMPU. There some stops on the way for taking pictures. Lunch will be served in the local restaurant en route. Upon arrival at Bima, check-in Lawata Beach Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4, BIMA – LABUAN BAJO

After having breakfast at the hotel, then their next program is proceeding to Sape seaport to take a ferry crossing the strait to Labuan Bajo. Lunch will be provided on the ferry on the way to Labuan Bajo. Upon arrival at Labuan Bajo, check-in Bajo Beach Inn for rest, dinner and overnight,

Day 5, LABUAN BAJO – KOMODO – LABUAN BAJO

After having breakfast, board on a boat sailing to Komodo Island to see giant lizards, which described as Varanus Komodoensis. This is the peak of their adventures. Return to the campsite for a little rest. After having lunch, sail back to Lab. Bajo.

Day 6, LABUAN BAJO – RUTENG

Breakfast is at the hotel. Drive directly to RUTENG. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant en route. Late afternoon check in at selected accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 7, RUTENG - BAJAWA

After having breakfast at the hotel, a full day tour to Bajawa. On the way stop at RANAMESE LAKE – the lake which surrounded by tropical forest, AIMERE Village – where local people process a local alcohol called Arak. In the afternoon check in hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 8, BAJAWA – BENA – AIGELA – ENDE

After having breakfast at the hotel, continue driving to ENDE City. Stop will be made at BENA traditional village – where catholic mixed with Megalith belief. Then follow the road to AIGELA passing through a spectacular rice terracing. Lunch will be served en route. Arrive at ENDE at the afternoon, check-in hotel directly for dinner and overnight.

Day 9, ENDE City Tour – MONI

After having breakfast leaving the accommodation for a city sightseeing by visiting SOEKARNO’S Museum where the first president of Indonesia were exiled by Dutch Colony. Then proceed to NUABOSI Hill view, MONI – a higher land to check-in your recommended accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 10, MONI – KELIMUTU – MAUMERE

Early in the morning at 04.00 AM, trek up to the summit of the lake of KELIMUTU to witness great sunrise. KELIMUTU is three-miracle-colour-lakes: Red darky – Green – Blood red. Return down to Moni for breakfast. Proceed to PAGA beach for a short break. Then to SIKKA – hand weaving village, BIKUN BLIWUT – traditional Museum. Lunch will be swerved in a local restaurant en route. Drive will be continued to MAUMERE for check-in at hotel for rest and overnight.

Day 11, MAUMERE DEPARTURE

After having breakfast, transfer out to airport to catch the flight back to Jakarta via Bali.
